College Necessities

Goodbye Wichita...Hello Lawrence!

Last night my parents told me that my Grandpa wanted to go to dinner with me and my parents at Pacific Coast Pizza ... Little to MY surprise, my entire family was throwing me a Going Away Party! I had NO idea! I was speechless (which never happens)! Anyways, we had such a good night eating pizza, chit chatting, and playing KU trivia games! My mom had emailed everyone my color scheme of my dorm room and what I still need to get, and everyone pitched in to make it happen!

I decided to put together a College Dorm Room blog for anyone who is in the same boat about leaving for college. I have separated everything into certain categories. We can exchange ideas!

~Lets get started~

{Bedding}

First off, I had to show off my bedding... Just imagine this on a twin size bed! My (Twin XL) comforter is from The Company Store and my warm colored sheets are from Pottery Barn. As for my pillows and throw....I have my wonderful Aunt Sheryl to thank for those! Also, I can't forget my adorable Jayhawk Pillow Pet that I just adore!

{Shower Supplies}

Next, we have all my shower supplies. these are just a few towels I have received. Just to make sure you have everything I have provided a list!

  • Shower Caddy (one that water can seep though and everything can dry easily)
  • Towels (4)
  • Wash Cloths
  • Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Body Soap
  • Loofah (If wanted)
  • SHOWER SHOES (especially for shared bathrooms in dorms!)
{Laundry}
Laundry cnd be pretty generic stuff. Whatever gets the job done. I wish you could see my laundry detergent bottle, haha my grandpa decided to tape a million quarters onto it!
Here is what I am bringing....
  • Hamper (one that folds away for easy storage)
  • Hangers
  • Door hangers (for towels, robes, etc...)
  • Detergent
  • Dryer Sheets
  • Laundry basket
  • Tissues
  • Air Freshener
  • Trash Can
{KU Decor}

I love all my KU decor that I received. Everyone should have a little school spirit in their living space, right??
  • Once again, my Jayhawk Pillow Pet!
  • Camelbak
  • Tumbler
  • Umbrella (you're definitely going to wish you had one of these on the first day it rains when you're walking to class!)

{Wall Decor}

Just a few random wall decorations that can come in pretty handy at times!

  • Dry Erase Board
    • One that has either a weekly or monthly schedule on it
    • One plain one for outside the dorm room so people can leave messages when you're away
  • Wall Clock
  • Body Mirror
    • One that can hang over the door
Of course I had to have some hanging paper lanterns! I wanted more light in my dorm, but in a cute way! These are from Pottery Barn, they come in all sizes and colors. I have a bigger teal one that is coming in the mail this week. I can thank Sister {Life of Meg} for these :)

My mom and I also found these big, pink circular wall stickers. The cool part is that you can use dry erase on them too! We found these at Bed Bath & Beyond. They can be found at Office Max as well.

One thing that I did not have pictured would be a First Aid Kit.

Anyways, I hope this helped you figure out how you want to decorate your room, and figure out what you should bring. If you are not part of the college crowd, then I'm glad I could share my thoughts and ideas with you all :)

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Eye Lash Tinting

Hello my Beautiful Blondes!

Ever wished your eye lashes were naturally darker? Ever knew that was even possible?!

If you are anything like me, then you can vouch that your eyelashes are next to invisible. I don't mind going out every now and then with the "natural" look. However, in the summer it can be a drag to keep my mascara on without smudging all over my face while swimming.

Last summer one of my friend's mom (who also had blonde eye lashes) told me about Eye Lash Tinting.  I thought it was such a good idea, but I never looked into it really. She told me where to go and how long it lasted. I finally gave in!

I was a little nervous because of the thought of dye so close to my eye. I called a local Spa and and asked about the mini procedure. The Spa reassured me that everything was safe and painless...so I scheduled my appointment!

~Check out my Before and After picture~

Right before I got my Lashes Tinted and right after with absolutely no make up on!

{Not so invisible anymore, huh!?}

Typically, any local Spa can do it. I went to Seveta's (Wichita, KS) located in Bradley Fair. Each Spa's pricing will vary but should be around $25.00 and last around 4-6 weeks! If you live in Wichita check out Seveta's Spa

Let me know if any of you have tried it...I'm curious for some feedback!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday! :)

Emily Maynard's Pink Lace Robe

Good Morning Bloggers!

     So last night I decided to go to a movie (SAVAGES) with Tyler instead of watching the season finale of the Bachelorette with Emily Maynard. However, I DID get to watch it in my cozy bed this morning! I got to thinking and I realized that I loved this season for multiple reason....

  1. I loved that she picked Jef
  2. I really enjoy seeing all the places they visited
  3. HER CLOTHES
One of my absolute reasons why I watched the show is because of all the clothes Emily wore. She has such cute style from her dresses to her maxi shirts to her shoes and even to her jewelry. You name it, Emily has it all!

There was one piece that caught my eye...

This is something that maybe not everyone noticed she was wearing, but if you were paying attention you would see she wears it multiple times. This idem was the CORAL ROBE with off white LACE! The moment I saw her wearing it while she was getting ready, I knew I had to find out where she got it!

I spent all morning trying to find it, and I figured out where Emily got her classy robe!

Emily's robe is from the brand LOVE OPHELIA, and you can order yours now online!

This Coral robe is originally $76.00
BUT you can enter BACHELORETTE into the Code box when you check out for 20% off ($15.20 off)

Order yours NOW!

Other colors : Mint, Lemon, Dusty Rose, Ivory, Dusty Blue, Pure White, Navy, and Black

I ordered the Coral one, I do not know if the BACHELORETTE code applies to the other colors or not.

Have a GREAT DAY!

I introduce to you : MILLIE

Playing Wii with Mom

Don't underestimate her....just throw her a few toys and she'll smoke anyone in Wii tennis!

Bashful Millie

America the Beautiful

" We must be free not because we claim freedom, but because we practice it."

The 4th of July is without a doubt one of my FAVORITE holidays! Who does love a good cookout, the lake, fun parties, occasional drinks,  and amazing fireworks??

All those things I listed above are fun, but most importantly I love the 4th because of the meaning. I am a proud American that stands behind our troops 100% . Furthermore, a special thanks is in order.

Special thanks to those who sometimes get forgotten for their hard work, to those who have gave up their own lives for our freedom, to those who have left their families overseas, to those families of the waiting, and those unfortunate families who have lost love ones. Thank you US Military for what you do for our Country.

God Bless America- Lee Greenwood

Chorus
"And I'm proud to be and American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

And I gladly stand up,
next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land,
God bless the USA."

In 1990 Whitney Houston sung one of the most talked about performances of the Star Spangled Banner at the opening of Super Bowl XXV.

What are your plans this 4th of July?!

GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Welcome To My Blog!

Hello Sweet Bloggers!

As you may have noticed, this whole Blogging World is slightly new to me! However, I'm proud to say that I am extremely excited to start Sandy Toes & Salty KissesI cannot wait to share my experiences, thoughts, crafts, and ideas with you all.

{Take me to the Island...put my feet in the Sand}

Sandy Toes & Salty Kisses relates to me because even though I live in the "heart" of America {Kansas}, deep down in my heart I am a beach gal. As for the Salty Kisses side, I am a hopeless romantic that loves a good Fairy Tale.

 I, myself, am in a little fairy tale of my own! I have been dating my boyfriend, Tyler, a little over a year... and quite a year it as been! Tyler joined the Air National Guard and in January, he left for basic training at Lackland A.F.B. After 4 months of letters and timed phone calls, Ty made it back in time for my High School graduation in May. Now we are having the time of our lives this summer as we let loose and have a little fun!
